Hi, I’m Max Derry, founder of Maxwell Mortgages, based right in the heart of motorsport country – Silverstone.
I’ve been a self-employed mortgage broker for over 8 years, helping people with everything from first-time buyer mortgages and remortgages, to buy-to-let, new builds, shared ownership, and home movers. I also advise on protection and insurance, making sure you and your family are properly covered. I believe mortgage advice should be simple, straightforward, and tailored to you – no jargon, no stress.
While building Maxwell Mortgages, I also co-founded Bucks Brothers Gin with my brothers in 2020. We grew it into a successful Buckinghamshire distillery before selling the business in early 2025 – a great adventure that taught me loads about running a business and thinking outside the box.
Outside of work, I’m big into fitness. I ran the London Marathon in 2019, completed a Half Ironman in 2020 to raise money for the NHS, and finished my first 50km ultra marathon in 2024. I love a challenge and bring that same energy and drive into everything I do – including how I support my clients.
When I’m not working or training, you’ll usually find me with my partner Robyn, our little boy Kit, and our Italian water dog Truffle. We love heading to Cornwall whenever we can for family surf trips with my brothers – shorts, flip flops, and a board under my arm is my idea of heaven.
